modern Primitive Quilts by Laurie Simpson
I found this book interesting as it blends modern designs & color pallets
while using traditional patterns.
I love the Halloween Log cabin quilt as well as the farm inspired quilts.
There is also a really great applique' quilt.
You will find projects in wool and Japanese inspired wovens.
I love the warm Home feeling of the projects.
Give it a spin! it is a little bit older than most I review but I
think it deserves a look!

We have a real winner here for you today.....
We love their fabric, their blog, their scrapbook papers & it seems that their projects are having the same effect on us.
Sweetwater's.....SIMPLE HOME
They have 35 projects that you can sew for every room in the house.
I LOVE....The photography
I LOVE....The projects
I LOVE....(Most of all) The way they introduce their concept of SIMPLE & the importance of surrounding ourselves with things we love.
Isn't that what home is all about?
Think your going to love it too!

Monday Book Club
For those of you who enjoy a little traditional quilting......
this book is so classic Kansas City Star. It would work good for a block of the month project and what I really love is they give you different examples of setting the blocks.
the photos are beautiful as well as the blocks and finished quilts. You might want to take a look at this very beautifully done book.

This is just a quick little post about a super fun book....
Vintage Notions....By Amy Barickman
This book is an Inspirational, creative collection on needlework, cooking, sewing, fashion & Fun. The book is inspired by Mary Brooks Picken during the 1920's-1930's. She was a pioneer in the domestic arts.
I had so much fun reading through the nostalgic pages, stepping back in time when the domestic arts were cultivated by your everyday housewife. Can I say I found it extremely charming!
Vintage Notions gives you a historic peek into the time period rather than being a project book.
I think you will enjoy it!
